What is the idea of the bank "work" in a care home?

I was told to work bank where they will call you at random and ask you to make changes to the care home, what does it consist of rest? Can you reduce travel when they call you? Can you have as many holidays as you want? After all .. this is not a permanent job?

I do work bank. Yes you can reject the changes and that the holidays have all you want but if you refuse too many and are still on holiday, they will eventually stop ringing. It may not be permanent contract but you still need to be reliable.
