Hospital job!?

I work in the medical field since 2 years now and I'm ready for something new. I want to get a job night shift at my local hospital but I am worried because I am only 18 they will look over my application. I applied and thought I had things perfect because I know someone who works there, I have two years experience but I never even received a call for an interview!? What should I do to prove I'm more responsible than most people my age and show him that I really want to work!
