I receive many emails from people wondering how to enter the field of security. Many are looking for a career change and are curious to know what kind of education and experience necessary to work as a security specialist in the Defense and contractor industry. Others engage in life and looking for a job with challenges and opportunities the field offers Security. There are many great opportunities with large businesses and small entrepreneurs engaged premises. Here's what I discovered about our industry and some of you may have other experiences and advice you can give to those seeking a career in security.

Industrial safety is an exceptional area for someone with all ranges of experience to enter. Some were hired at a job entry level and have received promotions and additional responsibilities. Others were transferred full time security after having enjoyed serving as additional duties. Career growth occurs as the contract and the company expands or employee takes more responsibility after hiring a different company. Security Officers may also move to senior positions security as a chief security officer or security guard company as experience meets opportunity.

Employees entering the workforce can benefit level jobs. These possibilities are great for building skills and fill a critical need while revenues filing, packing packages, lists of access control, the application of safety information systems or providing classified information in an accounting system. These skills combined with learning the implementation of programs to protect classified information provides a great foundation to build careers on. In addition, many employees from attending university and other educational opportunities for adults while serving in full time in the field of security. Experience, education, certification and security clearance obtained during employment prove invaluable.

Taking a look at the classified ads and job advertisements, one can see that education and certification is becoming more a requirement. Advertisements placed on entry level jobs and some FSO requested that the ability to get a security clearance and have a high school diploma or GED. However, more and more listings for jobs will require education formal to include a college and a preference for security certification. The defense industry is still safe a good career field to gain experience of entry level and move up quickly. Rootedness in a good career offers perfect environment and opportunity for the simultaneous teaching and certification. This will make everything ready for the future positions and poses.

For those just starting their careers in small firms have a great opportunity to perform in various disciplines of security. Some actually take Responsibilities named SFO as an added extra and learn on the job. Many organizations of the defense contractor are small and may only have someone in the role of security. Our industry is still a great place to learn and grow. Career advancement and promotions are always available for preparation. Opportunities continue to exist in companies large enough to provide increasing challenges and rewards. Some may need to apply for jobs with other companies to realize their potential. Others may be convinced the exercise of their functions useful in an organization where their skills are valued and rewarded.
