Several construction of Connecticut will soon be created thanks to the U.S. recovery and Reinvestment Act. Jobs and funding will also provide potable water to state residents.

The State of Connecticut has received nearly $ 20 million federal funds for economic recovery for the state and municipal projects that will improve drinking water. The Environmental Protection Agency issued $ 19.5 million for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Connecticut and $ 485,000 to the state water management Quality and Program Planning.

According to an article in the Hartford Business Journal online, the State Department of Health said the money will be distributed in grants and low interest loans for public water systems and construction-ready projects for processing and delivery of drinking water.

"This money will ensure our residents have clean drinking water and safe while protecting and creating jobs in our country,''Senator Joe Lieberman said in the article.

The construction industry in Connecticut has dropped each month during the last six months. The industry has declined by 12 per cent in November 2008, 14.8 per cent in December 2008, 17.1 per cent in January, 19.7 per cent in February, 21.9 per cent in March and 22.4 percent in April.
