logistics jobs
Current scope of logistics / transport / shipper jobs in the United States?

Having worked for nearly 4 years in the Middle East for a leading freight forwarding / logistics Company.I am preparing to migrate to the United States in the next months.Frankly want to know if there are openings on the good work in this industry there in the USA?

The transportation industry in the United States was in a depression since approximately 6 months. The rates were lower than some have seen in over 30 years by some accounts. The volume of cargo was also down to a trickle compared to 6 months ago. Thousands of trucking companies ceased operations during the past year. This slowdown has made other segments of the transportation industry. Ironically, some current problems in the trucking industry can be attributed to some extent to logistics companies. The lower volume of available goods has led to a reduction in price frenzy in most industry segments Trucking prices down to unacceptable levels. Many will not survive. When the U.S. economy turns around which should result in shippers and logistics companies to pay more than average prices to move their goods. Their greed during this period will result in fewer trucks are available to convey what will be a glut of goods. Supply and demand will force rates letters to unprecedented levels. I expect this rate to at least double to triple the current rates. The current situation has had a positive effect on the rail. With some companies have switched to rail to ship their products through the country in an effort to save on postage. Some trucking companies have also utililized rail to move their trailers across the countries for shippers as products are not time sensitive. decline in consumer demand in the United States has resulted in fewer shipments entering the country reduced the need for ships to move products around the globe. Unless consumers buy the importers do not need to make more products. The global slowdown has forced some companies to reduce wages or freeze all hiring. If you want to move the I would you first money to pay all living expenses for at least 6 months to 1 year. I also suggest you have a job solids prior to moving. We do not know how long this depression will last and most businesses, particularly in logistics is crisis. There will still be some hiring, but those who are adding staff will probably try to hire people they can least afford to do the job. You could check some of the magazines to obtain job leads and see who may be hiring. Some will list jobs in these publications. There are few large logistics companies in the U.S. Many of them have their own websites and in May the list of available jobs on these sites.
