Generally, they are not examined all applications online or approve them. What happens when a work is open to some place, they will scan their databases and perform a search on all applications. They will draw the CVs of people who have the skills they want for example, cash register experience, experience in customer care, etc., then they will appeal to candidates. They probably get 100s of applications a day, so it's really hard to go through all alone. That is why they ask candidates to fill in online order they can have the database just do a quick search for them.
