It is still summer as I write this article and you're all probably still quite busy with painting the exterior. It is now time to think about getting jobs for the winter. The only thing about the winter's work is that painting contractors who waited until winter to find work, everything will be finished all the work coming in January, February or March. It is therefore important to obtain Winter work now. Most painters do not think that far ahead.

There are several strategies to use now to keep your schedule open during the winter months. And now, it's really time to start if you do not want to be stuck in February drop your prices so low that you do not have money just to get the job. You can get this job today with a discount of little or no, and schedule of work for the winter months.

One of the first things I recommend is to start your direct mail campaign for winter employment paint right now. Direct mail is an inexpensive way to start your customer leads.

Many painting contractors abandon this technique after sending 100 to 200 ads. If you've already seen one of these jobs franchise signs outside a house and knew that they take all their jobs, you would know that they get much of their jobs from Direct Mail. They have not given up after 100 or 200, as a matter of fact, they mail at least 200 each week throughout the year or more.

I do direct mail since early 1980 and my return was as high as 15 per thousand customer calls shippers. Now the performance is lower due to the fact that so many companies and use direct mail services, and even if the return is lower today is still the best source of customers who really want the painting done.
