What majors to pursue for energy / solar power jobs?

I am looking for majors to pursue for different college and, for fun, I decided to move away from the ordinary boring ones. I thought solar / energy saving power is likely to become a large company, but what the majors are there to continue? I just want some ideas, but if I try to ask keep it less general. (For example, please do not just say "the sciences" unless you may be able to explain briefly any branch of science in particular!)

Hello there, engineering is not a bad field to something like alternative energy. I know it's a bit general, but maybe there is something specifically in engineering, which can respond to solar energy wind power, wave energy, etc.. I guess it really depends on the school where you are, and what kind of variety with the majors they offer.
