The term "job security" is a big fat joke. In fact, I would go so far as to call a lie in bold, and I'll tell you why.

I worked in a publishing company in downtown Boston, and 4 years earlier, I worked in a myriad of other companies' office "jobs. Stale, stagnant, boring, not creative work that draws your soul dry. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Anyway, I worked in publishing for nearly 7 years until One morning I was pulled aside and told my position was abolished.

Poof! During the night, my work was purely and easily removed by some schmuck COO company wanted to outsource to India. What was even more shocking to me was my official, who had been there for 46 years was also laid off in the blink of an eye.

Yes, you read correctly – to 46 years, nearly five decades, and was arrested without a word of thanks or a pat on the back.

No farewell, no gold watch No thank you. Just "Bye. Oh, you need to pack all your stuff. Now, get out."
Quite hard, especially since this lovely lady was in his years of sunset. Believe me, nobody was satisfied. 20 more people were something simple ax, no questions about it, and assign jobs to people across the world.

My friends, what happens daily to thousands of people. I am not an exception. The business world can be insensitive, cold, calculating. The "security" they advertise is simply a way to whet your appetite, for a worker to keep you docile, gentle boy who will ultimately be "rewarded" with a great 401K plan. YUCK! NO THANKS!

As you can see, and with all the implications of slavery to perform a "9 to 5 in hand, there is no such thing as "job security. "There is no guarantee that you will be your job forever. Let me put so different:

There is no guarantee you'll be at your work again next week.

You have no idea what will happen when you place your future in the hands of UPS highest "(another phrase I always scolded) Who's the only challenge is to more profits. They do not give a hoot owl in your future or your projects.

And this may be why you're here. Perhaps you've already a business and I want to move to the next step. Or are you looking for a better way or a way out of the shuttle, grinding, daily work. Perhaps you hate your job. Maybe you do not support corporate slavery or mundane, repetitive tasks that rob you of your creativity.

Believe me. I hear you and I'm with you on these points alone.

I suffered through corporate sanitation for more than a decade. I could not bear the thought of someone else telling me what to do, when to do it, when I could go on vacation, for how long, when I could eat when I had to be back from lunch, or how much I was worth. It is why homework is the best answer to the madness of corporatism.
But realize that there is no such thing as security employment. And this discovery is what really made me wake up. Being laid off was the best gift I ever received. It made me realize how much I have really retains the kind of life I deserved.
