Since St. Louis is full of crime and poverty, do I have a good chance of finding work there?

My reasoning is that St. Louis is full of crime and poverty. Therefore, all kinds of Harvard and other perfectionists are not interested in working there. So if I ask to work and live in St. Louis County where there is not much crime, I'd be able to start a good career.

I lived in St. Louis for 10 years now and I love it. I moved here from Atlanta and loved the city too. All major cities have crime and poverty. Just stay away from St. Louis to the east (toward the Illinois River) and could well be pass. My family and I live in the west of town about 25 miles to St. Charles. It is a great city neighborhood with lots to do and good schools. Good lucky!
