Anyone know of a job in social work that is actually positive?

I work for a shelter that takes all cases abuse or neglect in the state. I like my job, my boss and the people I work for everyone, but I feel desensitized to pain and numbness. I can not make this concert a lot longer. I need a job that can be hired and BSW, preferably as I earn enough to feed myself and my dogs, which is actually … edifying. Thoughts?

I work in a treatment center for sex offenders and this too can be rather depressing, but then you need to think about how you help people by taking these reports of abuse and neglect. I know I may sound crazy, but sometimes you have to use your strengths-based approach when looking at your work. It seems that you enjoy everything about it except for the part depressed to find the positive in it because you know as well as I do … there are not many jobs on BSW ago at this time. I'm sure you can see how amazing your work is just to explore a little more. Maybe take a little more different tasks, talk to colleagues about what they like on the job … just get different perspectives, if you can.
