york jobs
What kind of jobs are most common in New York?

I have an ambition to move to New York to live and work, I'd do anything to go live for a couple of years. What jobs are most common to have in New York City? What would be the the most realistic position to take a stranger? I have this idea that the New York job market is mainly dominated by finance, but what if you do not want to work in finance?

Hospitality. It is more common. As there is a BOOMING economy to tourism, these jobs will and still there is a reason we have placed in our Forum in New York. http://newyorkforum.us/index.php?showforum=26

Barenaked Ladies Are Me Barenaked Ladies Are Me
$0.52

15+ years after their winsome indie debut, Canada's Barenaked Ladies come full circle here, dropping off the major label merry-go-round to re-embrace a DYI sensibility with typically breezy aplomb. But, as this collection's strong songs and crisp production attest, that hardly means the band didn't learn a thing or three during its successful tenure in the majors. The gorgeous melancholy of "Adrif...
Inside Job Inside Job
$2.67

Often taken to task for the maudlin mellowness of his back catalog, Don Henley's viewpoint on Inside Job is frequently as astringent as any of the best of his solo work, if refreshingly more stylistically diverse. Whether skewering the self-absorbed target of "Nobody Else in the World but You" with some welcome funk or lambasting the corporate co-opting of Mother Nature in "Goodbye to a River," He...

The Out-of-Towners [VHS] The Out-of-Towners [VHS]
$9.80

Arthur Hiller (Love Story) directed the film adaptation of Neil Simon's curious comedy about a pair of non-New Yorkers (Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis) having a hellish visit to the Big Apple on the eve of a job interview for Lemmon's character. Made in 1970, this hectic film almost seems ahead of its time when compared to more recent misery-piled-on-misery comedies such as Planes, Trains, and Autom...
Lewis & Clark - The Journey of the Corps of Discovery [VHS] Lewis & Clark - The Journey of the Corps of Discovery [VHS]
$7.00

Another reliably well-crafted, generally engrossing documentary from Ken Burns, Lewis & Clark employs the director's now-familiar approach to his subjects, from its elegant juxtaposition of period illustrations and portraits against newly filmed footage of historic sites to Burns's repertory of accomplished actors to provide gravitas for quotes from the key figures. Granted the formula has become ...

Going the Distance Going the Distance
$1.90

Going the Distance sparkles with wit and true romance--something of a rarity among mass-market romantic comedies. Drew Barrymore and Justin Long, who have been a couple in real life, use their personal chemistry to effective ends in the film. They play Erin and Garrett, geography-crossed lovers who, after a whirlwind romance of six weeks in New York ("Keep it light! Keep it light" they both say, f...
The Devil Wears Prada (Widescreen Edition) The Devil Wears Prada (Widescreen Edition)
$5.62

This clever, funny big-screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's best-seller takes some of the snarky bite out of the chick lit book, but smoothes out the characters' boxy edges to make a more satisfying movie. There's no doubt The Devil Wears Prada belongs to Meryl Streep, who turns in an Oscar-worthy (seriously!) strut as the monster editor-in-chief of Runway, an elite fashion magazine full of si...
